“Wake up baby.” I hear Finn’s deep voice, his fingers rubbing my cheek, his breath minty and warm on my face.

“No… I need sleep. It aches. Everywhere,” I complain.

“Well, I have to go, baby. I need to be in the office in twenty. I’m already wearing yesterday’s suit until I can change into the spare in my office. Being late is not ideal.”

“Oh no, Thee Griffin Halston is going to do the walk of shame. I’m a little disappointed that I can’t walk right now. I’d love to be a fly on the wall for your father seeing this. He has hawk eyes that miss nothing. He will definitely notice.”

“Yes, he will. All the more reason to get there earlier, maybe avoid that,” he says.

I hate that he’s leaving. After the night—and morning—we’ve had, I just want him to lay in this bed and hold me. I don’t want to say that, though, because it will make me sound like the virginal girl, he helped rid of her virtue last night.

“Okay. Have a good day, Finn,” I say sweetly.

“Oh, I will. I’ll be thinking of last night all day.” He winks and then presses his lips to mine. “I want to see you tonight. I know you leave in the morning, so let me take you to dinner.”

“Like a date?” I ask, trying to tamp down my excitement.

“Yes, Avery. A date.” He smiles.

“I would love that,” I whisper.

“I’ll try to sneak out early. Be ready at six?” I nod, and he kisses me again. “Get some sleep. And take a warm bath. It will help the ache.” He winks again and then walks to the door.

Oh my God. I had the most amazing night with him and now we are going on a date. Just over a month ago, I was too young for him, but tonight I will be on his arm. I smile to myself, snuggling into the pillow that smells like him, and give into my body’s need for more sleep.
